It was a great experience to work alongside the masons at Albion Quarry who were charged with the task of direct carving the blocks to form the sculpture. Here, final decisions were made on certain aspects and details that surfaced as the drawings were slowly turned into three-dimensional shapes. As each block was finished it was wrapped and moved on a pallet into the yard. It seemed strange to see these new objects sitting alongside masonry destined for St Paul's Cathedral, part of the ongoing restoration work.
